do you have days like this?

Do you have days when you just let loose and dance with wild abandon with your kids?

(So the picture doesn't really show dancing with wild abandon...Kent made me delete those pictures, but trust me...all four of us were groovin' to the music!)

Yeah, we like days like that.

They make me smile.

P.S. I know the picture of Meredith is horribly blurry. But even so, I love how she is just so into dancing!

10 years already?!?

Wow...10 years ago today Kent proposed to me.

And I said yes.

We were in seniors in college at Goshen, and he took me to Chicago for shopping and supper at an awesome restaurant, Red Fish. Neither of us had ever been to Red Fish, but he knew that I loved New Orleans and cajun food, so that's where we went.

And who did we run into while waiting for a table? My good friend Amy and her husband Ryan. Who just happened to be in Chicago on the same night and have a reservation...long before ours.

So we ate supper with Amy and Ryan...while Kent sweated bullets. I think I remember him not talking very much and not eating very much. The not talking part isn't too surprising. The not eating part is very surprising. Very surprising indeed!

Now, I knew why we were there. I knew he had a ring. I knew what he was going to ask. But I hadn't ever seen the ring. And I didn't know exactly when or how he would ask.

After supper Kent asked if I wanted to take a walk. In the windy city (note the emphasis on windy!) In February. In the dark. And the cold.

Why didn't I have a warmer coat then? And why was I wearing a dress instead of something sensible like jeans?

But of course I was thrilled to go for a walk. In the cold. And the wind.

So we walked to the corner of 2 streets that had significance, but I have now forgotten what streets they actually were.

And he got down on one knee.

And asked me to be in his life. Forever.

And I said yes.

And I was thrilled.

Now...

10 years later...

3 homes later...

2 kids later...

too many jobs to count later...

I'm still thrilled to be in his life.

Forever.

What's with the coat and hat?

Jesse loves his winter coat.

And his hat.

Sometimes I seriously can't get him to take them off. at. all.

The record is him wearing his coat and hat for 2 hours after returning home one afternoon.

2 hours!

So thank you Jace, for sharing your hand-me-down coat and hat with Jesse.

He's in love with them!

Speaking of Jace, here's the cutie with his great outfit from this past Saturday: sweatshirt on top of tank top, on top of long sleeved shirt with shorts on top of pants. And to top everything off, a sideways Superman hat!

Since him and Kent were playing Mario Kart together, Kent felt the need to copy part of the outfit.**

Speaking of Mario Kart, I think maybe the game should be banned from our house. Because we love it waaaaay too much (and consequently play it waaaay too much!)

The makers of the Wii knew what they were doing when they locked different things in Mario Kart. Because it just makes you want to keep playing and keep winning so you can unlock yet another kart. Or another bike. Or another player.

**Update: Kent is not very happy with me for posting these pictures of him. So if you like the pictures and think they need to stay, then leave a comment and let us know!
