Egg-cellent

Last week we had a fun evening with my niece, Lauren, and her friend Celia.

We decided to enlist Lauren and Celia's help in dying Easter eggs.

The problem was that the 12 eggs I had hard boiled were gone in a flash. So we had to resort to dying our regular brown eggs. Not quite as pretty as the white ones, but at least now I can tell which ones are hard boiled and which aren't!

Dyed brown eggs are my favorite! Last year I blew the insides out of a whole bunch and then my small group dyed them when we met. I have the eggs out again this year.

I really like the holder you have for your eggs to dry. Where can I get one?

I don't remember where I got the holder...maybe with the kit for marbling Easter eggs?

I like dyed brown eggs better too, but the kids aren't as crazy about them. I heard a trick this year for dyeing eggs that you blow the insides out of. If you dye them first, then blow out the inside, the dyeing part is a lot easier. That was my problem last year - the inside-less eggs wouldn't stay down in the dye.
